How to install & activate
your eSIM

Pick your device below and follow the step-by-step guide. Most setups take under 2 minutes — no SIM card, no store visit needed.

iOS / iPhone

iPhone XS or later · iOS 12.1 or later · Carrier unlocked

1
Open Settings
Unlock your iPhone and open the Settings app (the grey gear icon).
2
Go to Cellular
Settings Cellular Add eSIM
On older iOS versions this may appear as Mobile Data instead of Cellular.
3
Tap "Use QR Code"
Your camera will activate. Open the email from RapideSIM on a second device (or print it) and point your iPhone camera at the QR code.
Tip: Open your email on a laptop or tablet, then scan with your iPhone for the easiest setup.
4
Confirm the plan details
Your iPhone will display the eSIM plan details. Tap Continue to confirm, then Add Cellular Plan.
5
Label your eSIM
Give your eSIM a name (e.g. "Turkey Trip" or "Europe Data"). This helps you manage multiple lines.
6
Set as data line & connect
When prompted, choose your new eSIM as the default data line while travelling. You're now connected!
Turn off Data Roaming on your home SIM to avoid unexpected charges: Settings › Cellular › your home SIM › turn off Data Roaming.

Android (Google Pixel, OnePlus & others)

Android 10 or later · eSIM-capable device · Carrier unlocked

1
Open Settings
Open the Settings app on your Android device.
2
Navigate to SIM Manager
Settings Network & Internet SIMs Add SIM
On some Android versions the path is: Settings › Connections › SIM Card Manager › Add Mobile Plan.
3
Scan the QR code
Tap Scan QR code. Open the RapideSIM email on another device and hold your phone's camera over the QR code until it's detected.
4
Confirm installation
Review the plan details and tap Activate or Download. Your eSIM will install in a few seconds.
5
Set as preferred data SIM
Go to Settings › SIMs, select your new eSIM and set it as the Preferred SIM for Mobile Data.
Disable data roaming on your home SIM to prevent unexpected charges while abroad.

Samsung Galaxy

Galaxy S20 or later · Samsung One UI 3.0+ · Carrier unlocked

1
Open Settings
Open the Settings app on your Samsung Galaxy device.
2
Go to Connections › SIM Card Manager
Settings Connections SIM Card Manager Add Mobile Plan
3
Tap "Scan Carrier QR Code"
Your Samsung's camera will open. Hold it over the QR code in your RapideSIM email until it scans automatically.
On newer One UI versions, look for "Add eSIM" instead of "Add Mobile Plan".
4
Confirm and download
Review the plan summary and tap Confirm. The eSIM profile will download and install — usually under 30 seconds.
5
Activate and set default data SIM
Back in SIM Card Manager, toggle your new eSIM on and set it as the preferred data SIM for your trip.
Make sure your Samsung is carrier-unlocked. Locked devices purchased from a carrier may not support third-party eSIMs.

Frequently asked questions

Yes — this is called Dual SIM mode. You can keep your home SIM active for calls and texts, and use your RapideSIM eSIM for data while travelling. On iPhone, go to Settings › Cellular and choose which line handles data.
eSIM plans are single-use — once activated, the data allowance runs until it's used or expires. For your next trip, simply purchase a new plan from rapid-esim.com and install it as a new eSIM profile.
Try these steps: (1) Increase the screen brightness on the device showing the QR code. (2) Hold your camera 15–25 cm from the screen. (3) Make sure you have a stable Wi-Fi or mobile connection. (4) Try the manual entry method instead — the activation code is in the same email. If still stuck, email support@rapid-esim.com.
Yes, you need an internet connection (Wi-Fi or your existing mobile data) to download and activate the eSIM profile. We recommend activating before you travel — at home on Wi-Fi is ideal.
A factory reset will erase your eSIM profile. Since each QR code can only be used once, you would need to contact support@rapid-esim.com to request a replacement code before your trip. Always activate before resetting your device.
Unfortunately, carrier-locked devices cannot use third-party eSIMs. You need to ask your carrier to unlock your device first. Most carriers will unlock devices that have been fully paid off — contact them directly for assistance.
